The Syrian Kurdish Artist Adnan Abd Al-Rahman was born in 1969 in the little village of Al-Ghannamieh, known for its green fields in spring and barren grounds in the summer.

This poor village in north-east Syria still inspires the painter today! In strong earthy colors he paints about the land of his youth. His work expresses the very difficult conditions of work of a people who still lives far away from industrial development. On his canvases Adnan draws the faces of this people reminding us of their land and of the condition of any societies.

In 1994 he joined the faculty of fine arts (oil-painting department) at the University of Damascus. He graduated in 1998.
